Race Distance:

SWIM: The 1.95km (1.2mi) swim is a counter clockwise 2 lap course in Salt Fork Lake. Swim start is a boat dock feet first start 3 at a time TT format. Wetsuits allowed.

BIKE: The 90km (56mi) 1 lap out & back bike course is a VERY challenging loop course featuring nearly 5000’ of climbing on roads within the park and country roads outside the park. This spectacular course features a middle section of nearly 20 miles of flat riding along the Tuscarawas River providing participants with a much needed break, along with breathtaking views of rolling hills and river scenery. Bring your climbing gears. This course is awesome — you won't forget it!

RUN: The 22km (13.64mi) run course is a 2-lap course on park roads and a 4+ mile section on the challenging Shadbush trail.

Age Group — 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,
70-74, 75+
Elite Open — 15-39 years old, has chance to finish in top 10 overall
Elite Master — 40-49 years old, has chance to finish in top 10 overall
Elite Grand Master — 50+ years old, has chance to finish in top 10 overall
Clydesdale — Males racing weight groups, not age: under 39 & 220+ lbs; over 40 & 220+ lbs
Athena — Females racing weights group, not age group — 165+ lbs

All participants will receive the following swag for their entry fee into the event:

  • Official ToughMan Ohio Tri Top (MUST wear during bike and run segments of the race)

  • Official ToughMan Ohio Finisher Jacket
  • Official ToughMan Ohio Finisher Medal

Insurance

You must be a member of USA Triathlon (USAT) to compete in the race, including each relay member. If you do not have an annual membership, you must purchase a one-day membership for $15 during the registration process.

Rules

The race is a USAT sanctioned race so USAT rules are in effect and USAT officials will oversee the race course.

Age Requirements

You must be 15 years old or older to participate in the TOUGHMAN race as an individual (or 14 years old in a relay team).

Packet Pick-Up

Friday May 31, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Race Site
Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 5:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at the Race Site

You must bring photo proof of identity and your USAT card if you have one. YOU CANNOT SEND SOMEONE ELSE TO PICK UP FOR YOU! Participants who transfer or sell their race number without going through the race management, will not be allowed to race, lose all entry fees as well as be subject to disciplinary action by USAT.

Parking on Race Day

There is plenty of parking at Salt Fork Lodge on RACE DAY. The transition area is about a ¼ mile walk from the parking lot via a paved trail. All participants MUST park in the designated parking areas at Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center. Parking closer to the transition is reserved for those with cabin reservations ONLY. Don't drive into the cabin area unless you have a reservation. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you come on Saturday to check in to the Lodge remember the American Triple-T participants will be racing from 8am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 6:30pm.

Transfer/Refund Policy

Entry fees are not refundable. Entry fees may be transferred to the 2020 event for a $50.00 transfer fee. If you are not able to participate in the event, you may submit a formal request in order to transfer your entry to the ToughMan Ohio event in 2020, which has a $50.00 transfer fee. The request must be received 2-weeks prior to the event via email before the event is sold out or closed out. A transfer request made after the start of an event will not be honored.

Race Cutoffs

The official race finish is at 4:30pm. The cutoff for the swim is 1 hour and 15 minutes after the start of the last wave. Any participant still in the water at this time will be disqualified and will not be permitted to continue with the race. The cutoff for the bike finish is 1:30pm. Any participant still on the bike at this time will be disqualified and will not be permitted to continue with the race. The cutoff for the run is 4:30pm. The cutoff for lap #1 on the run is 3:00pm. Any participant still on the run course at this time will be disqualified and removed from the course. These cutoffs are in place for the athletes safety and it is critical that any participant that is disqualified adhere to the official's call.
