Whovian Running Club continues our 2019 season of incredible and otherworldly places with:

The Trenzalore 11k!

A Level 2 Colony planet with a single settlement...the town of Christmas, where snow is farmed, and a certain rebellious Time Lord took a stand against every known enemy in a siege that lasted for centuries. The planet upon which the Doctor's timeline was invaded, manipulated, and put at its greatest peril.Our fourth virtual running event of the year remembers the dramatic location of the battlefield graveyard where the Doctor's own TARDIS was destined to become his tomb, fulfilling the prophecy of the "Fall of the Eleventh".

The mysterious Crack in Time is featured on the back, along with the prophetic quote that haunted us throughout the season. Curse you, Moffat! All participants will get this amazing 3" medal featuring the Tomb at Trenzalore and the fascinating image of the looming TARDIS. As with all WRC medals, it comes with the custom satin ribbon and a personalized digital bib.

"The old 'key in the quiff' routine. Classic!"

The Doctor surprised Clara (and all of us) with the revelation that he had a key to the TARDIS hidden under his wig. Wait. A wig? No one saw that magical solution coming! The WRC is honored to announce that our charity partner for this event is the Magic Yarn Project! The Magic Yarn Project is the original and largest volunteer-run non-profit organization that makes and sends whimsical princess yarn wigs and superhero beanies free of charge to children around the world who are battling cancer.

Chemotherapy treatments often leave skin too tender and sensitive to tolerate wearing traditional wigs, but Magic Yarn wigs are soft and giggle-inducing and invite children back into the world of imagination and play during a very difficult time. Our support will bring dozens (if not hundreds?) of these hand-crafted works of art into the lives of our greatest and bravest little companions!

Christmas was the site of the final Crack in Time, where the Time Lords were able to finally reach the Doctor, giving him a new set of regenerations and the power to end the Siege of Trenzalore. Show your love for the Eleventh and all who have been the Doctor, with the official event shirt! Available in tees, performance tees and tanks, and even hoodies, all of the proceeds will go to the Magic Yarn Project!

The suggested run date for this event is June 17, the shared birthday of both Arthur Darville AND our Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Whittaker! Remember, the 'run date' just a fun suggestion. Being a virtual run, you're welcome to complete your distance whenever, wherever, and however you choose! All medals will be mailed the week after registration closes on June 23.
