About the Event:

Created by the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation in 2006, the Lake Forest Festival and Fireworks is an annual community event and fundraiser completely run by volunteers to provide a safe and fun environment for families celebrating Independence Day. Over the years we have brought in award-winning entertainers including The Village People, Dennis DeYoung, KC and the Sunshine Band, Eddie Money, Rick Springfield, Wynonna, and Lou Gramm. The Headliner: HAIRBALL - A Bombastic Celebration of Arena Rock

A homage to Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Aerosmith and more! Hairball recreates your favorite '80s arena rock songs for a night of spectacular hair metal bliss! It's not a tribute show but a re-enactment of some of the greatest hair bands of that opulent decade, complete with makeup and costume changes, confetti and pyrotechnics, smoke machines and props galore. These guys are legit; they've been joined on stage by the likes of Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil and Dee Snider. With 3 lead singers, it's a dizzying spectacle of non-stop rock you won't soon forget.

The opening act will be: 97Nine - 97Nine (ninety-seven nine) is the premier classic rock cover band in the Midwest. This supergroup began rocking audiences with the most memorable anthems from the 80’s, 90’s and today.
