DESCRIPTION

The AICC in South Australia is pleased to invite you, your guests and your colleagues to

A Business Luncheon with the Hon. Vickie Chapman MP, Deputy Premier & Attorney General

Vickie was born on Kangaroo Island on 21 June 1957 and was educated at Parndana Area School and Pembroke School before studying Law at Adelaide University.

After graduating from Law in 1978, Vickie became a Barrister and Solicitor and, for many of those years ran her own small business, Chapman and Associates.

Vickie’s career changed direction in 2001 when the Liberal Party preselected her as their candidate for the seat of Bragg. She was first elected on 9 February 2002 and has represented the seat of Bragg since then.

Vickie was actively involved with the Liberal Party from a very young age when her father Ted had her handing out pamphlets and volunteering! Since then, Vickie has been very active in the Party holding many positions which include serving as Vice President of the South Australian Liberal Party (1990-1992) then as President (1992- 1995). These roles in the workforce and the Party equipped Vickie well for the challenges as a Member of Parliament and as a Minister.

During her time in Parliament, Vickie has been responsible for a number of key portfolios for the Opposition, including Education, Health, Transport and Infrastructure.

With the election of the Marshall Government in 2018, Vickie currently serves as the Deputy Premier and Attorney-General, with further responsibility for the Justice Reform and Consumer and Business Services portfolios.

It is a priority for Vickie to be able to help her constituents on an individual basis. Every day is different and Vickie is always learning something new, and assisting with a unique issue. Through it all Vickie is tremendously grateful for the love and support of her family, especially her sons Alex and Will.
