Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is honored to be the beneficiary of the ninth annual PEERS Gala. Since 1954, Rady Children’s has been dedicated to excellence in care, education, research and advocacy for the greater purpose of enhancing the health and developmental potential of children. What started as a small enterprise has quickly transformed into an ever-evolving institution renowned for its care of both local and global communities.

Rady Children’s is tackling the toughest problems in pediatric healthcare and well-being, focused on finding answers for every child who needs care. Its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the region’s only provider of Level 4 care, the highest designation available from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Each year more than 800 critically ill newborns spend time in Rady Children’s NICU – some for only a few days, others for weeks or months.

With your support, the NICVIEW camera system is a simple yet powerful solution for Rady Children’s NICU families who are separated from their newborns while they are treated in the NICU. Using bedside technology and a web-based platform, the NICVIEW system can provide real-time video streaming into the nursery so that families can see their newborn anytime, on any device and from anywhere in the world. This tool allows families to bond with their babies throughout treatment, to communicate remotely with the clinical team and to share the experience with their personal support communities.
