Paul Flynn, CEO, The Hospital Research Foundation Group
Paul is an experienced, innovative and entrepreneurial Board Director and Chief Executive, with his distinguished career spanning both the finance and profit-for-purpose sectors.
Paul has been CEO of The Hospital Research Foundation Group for 14 years, seeing the organisation through an extraordinary period of growth and impact. The Group consists of 12 charities and funds medical research and patient care services across more than 50 areas of disease and illness.
Paul is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds positions as a Non-Executive Director of BiomeBank Pty Ltd and a Governor of Pulteney Grammar School.
Previously, Paul was awarded a Senior Fellowship at the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, named the Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year in SA/NT, received the Equity Trustees Australian Not-for-Profit CEO Award for Innovation, and awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the University of SA in recognition of his exceptional work and contributions to the community.
Keith Drewery, Director, KPMG Australia
Director in the Enterprise division of KPMG, Keith has nearly 40 years’ experience working with wealth owners to help achieve financial goals and preserve wealth. Between 2006 and 2011 he established and ran The Myer Family Company's Sydney office, Australia's largest independent multi-family office.
Through the last 25 years, Keith has worked closely with founders and trustees of some of Australia’s most significant Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds. He consults widely to the not-for-profit sector.
Keith is the author of several publications including “Setting Up a Family Office” in conjunction with Barbara Hauser published by Globe Law and Business – he is a contributory author to several wealth management publications.

Kay Burton, Founder, SA Philanthropy Network
Kay Burton is a passionate advocate dedicated to advancing philanthropy in South Australia. With a career stretching from the United States to Australia, Kay has over 15 years of executive experience across various sectors, including government affairs, higher education and philanthropy.
Her journey began in the New England region of the US, working for the University of Maine System and later becoming a key member of the executive team for United States Senator Susan Collins in Washington, DC.
In 2009, Kay made the move to Adelaide, where she joined the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) – playing a pivotal role in establishing the institute’s inaugural fundraising and marketing strategies.
Kay’s commitment to the community extended to her service on a not-for-profit board and her consultancy work with several local not-for-profit organisations. In 2018, she and her husband Julian co-founded the Burton Foundation, further solidifying their dedication to philanthropy. Most recently, Kay served as the South Australian State Manager for Philanthropy Australia.
Now, recognising the potential to elevate community giving, she channels her energy into growing the SA Philanthropy Network, providing support to others in their philanthropic endeavours, and continuing to be an inspirational force for positive change.
