Recently nominated for 2021 James Beard's Best New Restaurant Award, BACANORA is a celebration of Sonoran cuisine and culture. BACANORA has quickly become one of Phoenix's most celebrated restaurants since its opening in February of 2021, having been named as one of the "40 Best New Restaurants in America" by Esquire Magazine, “Best new restaurant of the year" in 2021 by Phoenix Magazine, and given a 5 star rating by AZ Central.
Friday night's meal will feature a mix of Bacanora classics as well as a few dishes exclusive to this one night only affair. The set menu will feature BACANORA's acclaimed pollo asado, seared pulpo, charred short ribs, elote, aquachile and much more!!
Chefs Nakul & Arjun Mahendro's shared approach to intention and community make Rene and the Bacanora team ideal partners to host in the space. When the chefs first met, they bonded over their shared love of the food on which they were raised on, with Andrade expressing that part of his inspiration with Bacanora was to present the Sonoran cuisine of his family with the integrity and creativity that the Mahendro brothers have done with their Indian heritage at their Los Angeles restaurants Badmaash.
