Celebrating The Last Supper Party

3036 24th St, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA

DESCRIPTION

San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) continues the organization's return to the Mission district with the next thrilling episode of The Last Supper Party. The monthly event takes place in partnership with the venerable Medicine for Nightmares Bookstore and Gallery on 24th Street. Last Suppers take place on every third Wednesday of the month.

March will feature inspiring words of Anna Alan, Alan Chazaro and music from Tommi Avoclli Mecca accompanied by Alison Wright on vocals and Carl Herder on upright bass.

The Last Supper Party is curated by Alameda Poet Laureate, Kimi Sugioka. It is a spoken word and music performance series inspired by Fe Bongolan’s landmark painting of the same name (a 200 sq. ft. canvas that defines our Sutter Street office and that served as the original venue for the Last Supper Party). The series presents the voices of diverse artists and writers who call out the myriad injustices and impacts of corruption, unchecked power and greed.

SFIAF invites our audience to share ideas and bread and find inspiration in the thoughts and words of artists whose perspectives are drawn from a kaleidoscope of cultures. But who are united by compassion and a common desire to seek justice, equity and truth.

There will be an open microphone to follow and the event will include complimentary snacks and beverages.

ADMISSION to The Last Supper Party is FREE.
