Come do a country swing deep dive with Connor Stubbs of Litefeet, one of the primary country swing instructors in the PNW! He's coming up to teach with Kes Stansbury in a tour leading up to Nomads Wandering Convention 2024. This event is run in coordination with Country Renegades, and is designed for dancers who already have the basics of country swing down and are continuing their CS journey. 

Over the course of five hours, we'll explore the depths of timing and its close relatives -- rhythm and musicality -- in country swing. Why do we care about timing? Does it really matter? We'll move beyond timing as a restrictive element in our dance to the way timing opens up movement, connection, partnering, dynamics, and musicality. 

While the day will be responsive to what happens in the moment, it will look mostly like this:

12:50-1pm: Arrive, Warm-up, Sign-in. 

1-2:15pm: How Timing Affects Movement and Connection

2:30-3:45pm: Dynamics, Speed Changes, and Partnering

4-5pm: How Timing Opens Up Rhythm and Musicality

5-6pm: Cool Down / Questions / Open Social Dancing

But that's not all!

After the workshop, Connor and the Country Renegades will be out on
Saturday, 8pm, at Bourbon. We're going to grab food at 8pm and then dance the rest of the night.
There will also be 

Private lessons Saturday 10am-12pm, and
Private lessons Sunday 12-6pm (sign-up link at the bottom)
      Kes will also be offering lessons on Sunday that you can sign up for at the workshop.

We're planning to finish the weekend with a chill, social dance on Sunday night starting @aprox7pm, and featuring a variety of different genres of music, fairly low key, with a focus on being playful and having a good time dancing together. More details to come on this.
