The DeadFall Music & Arts Festival is a new, all day, community event to be held indoors at The Stationery Factory in Dalton MA on Saturday, October 15th, 2022. The event is a celebration of the music, spirit and culture of The Grateful Dead and Deadhead community. The festival will feature live music from multiple Western MA “dedicated” bands on two stages, fan art and craft vendors, food trucks, craft beer as well as a community food drive for a local pantry in need.
The Stationery Factory is a converted industrial building that formerly housed The Crane & Co. Stationery Division in Dalton, MA, located in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains. It is now the home of over 20 local businesses and artisans, including a state of the art event and performance space featuring multiple large rooms with a capacity of 800+. THE LINE UP
Dead Man’s Waltz is a six piece group that explores and celebrates the music of The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band and The Band. With two powerhouse drummers DMW echoes the line-ups while effortlessly interweaving the grooves and jams of all three iconic bands creating a unique musical experience. Dead Man’s Waltz is an all star collective comprised of seasoned, like minded professional musicians. The DMW lineup includes members of The Rev Tor Band, Entrain, Arukah, Raisinhead, Soul Sky and The Stone Revival Band. Members of DMW have shared the stage with members of The Grateful Dead, Dead and Co., The Allman Brothers Band, Phish and MOE. Dead Man’s Waltz is dedicated to presenting the music of The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and The Band with genuine respect to the original while not being afraid to interject a little bit of their own in to the mix. This is the free spirited approach the music demands and allows them the freedom to perform a unique and new set list at every show.
Grateful Dread is the brainchild of drummer Tom Major (Entrain, Bo Diddley).The “Dread” has been primarily a Martha’s Vineyard based band playing to packed houses every summer for years. Drawing from the popular Grateful Dead songbook “The Dread“ infuse reggae and ska grooves for a unique interpretation of the Dead’s music. The Grateful Dread keep true to the adventurous spirit of the Dead’s live show, while maintaining a funky reggae groove.
