Teacher: JenMarie Landig
In partnership with La Jolla Surf, La Jolla Historical Society is bringing mindfulness teacher and artist JenMarie Landig to teach two workshops that explore the intersection between well-being, mindfulness, and movement. These workshops draw inspiration from the sport and art of surfing, which requires full presence, encourages emotional release through its physicality, and nurtures a deep connection with oneself and nature.
Over the course of two workshops, JenMarie will guide participants through a discussion and embodied practice around mindfulness and movement and all that surfing inspires. The workshops include guided gentle movement, meditation, breath work, play, time for personal reflection, and conversation. You will leave with new practices, new awareness and insight, inspiration, and new connections to self and to each other. Each workshop will build upon the previous, but they are also designed to stand alone. Come to one or come to both! These workshops are inclusive of all levels and abilities.
Please bring a journal, pen, and mat or towel to the workshop. Wear clothes you are comfortable moving in such as sweats or yoga clothes.
Sign-up is for one workshop at a time; you must register separately for each workshop.
