DESCRIPTION
Saturday: Official Start of the 2025 Hemmings Great Race Featuring 130 Classic Cars
WHAT: The 51st Minnesota Street Rod Association’s “Back to the Fifties Weekend” will again fill the
Minnesota State Fairgrounds with nearly 10,000+ street rods, customs, classics, and restored vehicles,
all dating from 1964 and earlier.
NEW for 2025: MSRA is thrilled to serve as the Official Start location of the 2025 Hemmings Great Race presented by Coker Tire. The Great Race is a competitive, controlled-speed endurance road rally on public highways. The Great Race is not a test of top speed, but rather a test of the teams’ and drivers’ ability to follow precise course instructions and the cars (and teams) ability to endure on a cross-country trip.
MSRA Back to the Fifties will welcome 130 teams of antique, vintage, and collector cars as they begin to arrive at the Fairgrounds on Saturday morning. A ceremony will take place at 11:45 a.m., leading into the Official Start of The Great Race at noon from the Fairgrounds’ main gate at Dan Patch & Snelling. The teams will then embark on the nine-day, 2,300+ mile race, finishing in Irmo, South Carolina.

- United States Flag Raising Ceremony (Base of Space Needle) – 9 a.m.

- Military Salute Flyover – 11 a.m.
- 2025 Great Race: Arrivals begin at 9 a.m., Ceremony at 11:45 a.m., Race Start at noon.

- Model Car Show & Contest (Education Building) – 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Live Music Friday & Saturday nights (Bandshell) 6 – 9:30 p.m.
Sunday
- HUGE Swap Meet (Midway) – 6 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Church Service (North End Event Center/Ladies Showcase) – 9:30 a.m.
- Closing Ceremony (Bandshell) - 1 p.m.
