The NAACP Theatre Awards Show is a highly vsible, media driven, star-studded Theatre Awards Show produced in partnership with the City of LA and Councilwoman Heather Hutt, Council District 10. This Awards Show provides a platform for Thespians of color, who are often not seen, to be honored in a field amongst their peers.
This year, the NAACP Theatre Awards will be held at the gorgeous Taglyan Complex in Hollywood
Honoring thespians of color for 30 years, the NAACP Theatre Awards Show provides many platforms for thespians, writers, producers and other behind the scenes professionals to express their craft and share their contributions with people from all over the world. Originally a sector of the Image Awards, the Theatre Awards is now its own entity dedicated to uplifting the Arts Community. Our "Salute to Black Theatre" celebrates the evolution of the portrayal of African Americans in theatre from unrealistic stereotypical caricatures to a more balanced and honest reflection of the black experience.
