New Orleans Original Brass Fest

Louis Armstrong Park, 701 N Rampart St, New Orleans, LA 70116, USA

DESCRIPTION

The New Orleans Original Brass Festival was founded to celebrate the culture and legacy of New Orleans music and its people. It is the first of many events to fund the Non-Profit Organization “Save Our Brass Culture Foundation” which was created to give opportunities for elder and retired local musicians a way to provide income for their families.

Save Our Brass Foundation will provide teaching and mentor jobs in the Brass Music community (schools, local jails, and churches). This organization was created by musicians and for musicians. The event will kick off with a very special Brass Jazz Memorial Tribute honoring brass band musicians who are now deceased, such as Lionel “Uncle Lionel” Batiste, Anthony “Tuba Fats” Lacen,Dinneral Shavers, Arian Macklin and many more.
