Rural Living in Douglas County Resource Fair 2025

Douglas County, KS – K-State Research and Extension Douglas County is pleased to announce the Rural Living in Douglas County Resource Fair, taking place on April 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. This event aims to connect community members with experts and resources tailored to rural living needs.

The Resource Fair will address common rural living concerns, including:
- Zoning and codes for building a new home
- Well and pond management
- Prairie planting and wildlife habitat management
- Woodland area management
- Brush clearing and noxious weed control
- Land preservation
- and more

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a range of experts, including agencies, non-profits, consultants, nurseries, and contractors. The event is free and will feature informational booths and speakers providing valuable insights and practical advice.

“Our Rural Living in Douglas County Resource Fair is a fantastic opportunity for community members to receive expert guidance on various aspects of rural life,” said Sharon Ashworth, Horticulture and Natural Resources Agent at K-State Research and Extension Douglas County. “We are eager to connect residents with professionals who can help them enhance their land stewardship efforts.”
