SAN RAMON VALLEY CHORALE "LOVE IS IN THE AIR"

The San Ramon Valley Chorale is presenting its Spring concert, “Love Is In the Air”, on Sunday, April 30th and Saturday, May 6th at the San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church, 902 Danville Blvd in Alamo. Both concerts are at 4:00 pm.

Featured will be one of Johannes Brahms’ most loved choral works, the Liebeslieder Waltzes (Lovesong Waltzes). These short, tuneful pieces, which will be sung in German, describe the many moods of love, couched in Brahms’ lush harmonies. This work has been an audience favorite since their composition in 1868!

Also featured on the program is a fabulous tango, a French art song, a heartbreaking Irish love song and several pieces by American composers Norman Dello Joio and Kirk Mechem as well as others. Rounding out the eclectic nature of the program (and subject matter as well) is a classic barbershop/beautyshop arrangement of Lida Rose/Will I Ever Tell You, from the musical The Music Man.
