To our beloved festival family: We are sorry to announce that, due to restrictions imposed in light of the pandemic crisis, the Fourth Annual Valle Food & Wine Festival has been postponed until October 2, 2021.
As a small, family-run business, we understand that these are difficult times for everyone, and appreciate your loyalty, patience, and understanding. We were so excited to bring you the best Valle Food & Wine Festival yet, but our priority during these trying times continues to be the health and well-being of our attendees, staff, and the people of Valle de Guadalupe and Ensenada. We remain committed to the region and to you, are determined to bring you the best festival yet in 2021. In the meantime, we will do our best to support the wineries, restaurants, chefs, hoteliers, and artisans of this magical part of Baja California, in whatever ways we can.
Already bought a ticket?
For those who have purchased tickets, you have the option to roll the tickets over to 2021 or 2022. (And of course tickets can always be transferred to someone else.) You should have already received an email outlining next steps; please see that email and follow the prompts to redeem your ticket before November 1, 2020.
We are excited to share many new, fun, and delicious experiences with you in 2021.
In the meantime, we will stay in touch by email and our social media feeds with updates about the festival and the region.
The Valle Food & Wine Festival was born in the summer of 2017, when three friends — food writer Carolina Carreño and chef-restaurateurs Nancy Silverton and Javier Plascencia — had perhaps a little too much Baja wine with dinner at one of the region's great restaurants, and said to themselves, “Let’s start a festival!” The idea was to create an event that would celebrate the gastronomic and cultural riches of the Valle de Guadalupe and the surrounding area, help support the vibrant local community through charitable contributions, and give lovers of good food and drink (as well as its founders!) another reason to return again and again.
Once they'd agreed to create the event, Nancy told Carolina, “You’re going to have to plan this, and it has to be perfect!” A date only seven weeks away was chosen, so naturally Carolina asked every friend, family member, and colleague with any skill, enthusiasm, or opposable thumbs to help create, mostly without pay, the best, most delicious festival possible. Maybe the words “food,” “wine,” and “Mexico” helped convince them how much fun the experience would be. And we did it. We launched a festival! Three festivals later, the mostly-family VFWF team, many still volunteering their time, continues to help Valle Food & Wine Festival become what many say is the best food and wine festival in Baja California, and maybe in all of Mexico.
The most important element in the event's continuing success, however, is YOU, the guest, who rewards us with your joy, encouraging comments, and loyalty, and in so doing helps us to honor and support this valley that we love. We can’t wait to have fun with you again in 2021. In the meantime, be safe, and enjoy plenty of good food and wine with someone you love.
Please don’t hesitate to drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to hear from you!
