12th Annual Bike the Bay

Ride the bridge, Bike the Bay! Pedal around the San Diego Bay on August 25, 2019 and enjoy your only opportunity to ride across the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge. This non-competitive community bike ride is for riders of all abilities and will take you on a scenic, and primarily flat, ride around the San Diego Bay via the Bayshore Bikeway. Along the way, riders will travel through the surrounding cities of Coronado, Imperial Beach, Chula Vista and National City before finishing back at the start/finish line at Embarcadero Marina Park in downtown San Diego.

Not only will the scenic 25-mile route travel through all five of these very diverse communities but it will also allow riders their only opportunity of the year to ride over the beautiful Coronado Bay Bridge. All riders will return to San Diego for a post-ride festival with food, beverage, beer garden and entertainment.

Off Road Option - for an additional $5 you can enjoy an optional Gravel Loop for the 12th Annual Bike the Bay in Otay Valley Regional Park – Hosted by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association!

Now riders can opt for an extra 8 mile Gravel Loop Option through the trails of the Otay River Valley as part of their Bike the Bay experience. Mountain bikes, hybrids and gravel bikes recommended for this fairly flat cruise that jumps right off the Bayshore Bikeway at the west end of Main Street in Chula Vista.

This out and back ride will follow the meandering dirt trails east to the 805 past and then return to the main Bayshore Bikeway to hook up with the pack for the ride north to the finish at Embarcadero Marina Park South.

All riders that complete the Gravel Loop will receive a commemorative Bike the Bay/SDMBA patch!
