SAN DIEGO, Feb. 12, 2018 – Events.com, a leading global event management platform, announced today that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has selected Events.com as its official registration platform for the Team In Training (TNT) 30th Anniversary Virtual Run / Walk.
Thirty years ago, LLS, the world’s leading non-profit dedicated to fighting blood cancers, pioneered the sports endurance training for charity movement when the first Team In Training team ran the 1988 New York City Marathon. This year, Team In Training will celebrate that anniversary with the Team In Training 30th Anniversary Virtual Run / Walk where alumni, family and friends can participate anywhere in the world on June 6, 2018, National Running Day.
“We chose Events.com because of its experience in the virtual running space and its expertise in sponsorship, and we are excited to work together to deliver an amazing virtual run/walk event experience celebrating 30 years of Team In Training,” said Bob Merrill, Senior Vice President, Team In Training. “In the 30 years since The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society launched Team In Training, we have achieved many advances for blood cancer patients. This impactful fundraising program has helped LLS invest more than $1 billion in breakthrough research to advance lifesaving treatments.”
“With virtual races, runners can participate in events they love and support causes they believe in, while at the same time, doing so at the location of their choice,” said Mitch Thrower, Founder and Chairman, Events.com. “We’re honored to partner with LLS’s Team In Training for this virtual event.”
Registration for the event is slated to open later this year.
