Summit at Sea 2026

About Events.com

Events.com is the infrastructure behind live events and experiences. Based in La Jolla, California, the company helps people create, promote, discover and enjoy the moments that matter most, powering discovery, ticketing, registration and event management for tens of thousands of organizers and organizations worldwide.

AI-first, at Events.com every listing, ticket and registration on the platform adds to a structured, first-party record of where people gather, what they pay for and why. It is a live map of what is happening in a city now, not a report on what happened last year. That record powers the company’s event knowledge graph and its optimization engine, which makes events discoverable to both people and the AI systems people increasingly search through, and gives organizers, sponsors and venues real-time insight into demand, audiences and pricing.

Events.com also owns and operates live properties, including the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance and Summit at Sea, running its own technology at full scale.

Doug Harrison Board Director, Events.com Founder, The Rise Club

Doug Harrison

Board Director

Doug Harrison serves on the board of Events.com, the AI and data-driven platform for the global experience economy. Built on a category-defining domain and more than a decade of acquisitions, Events.com applies machine intelligence across event discovery, personalization, promotion and operations, drawing on billions of data points from more than 200 million experiences. Harrison brings three decades of consumer research and segmentation discipline to a company building the structured knowledge graph of the world's events, working with the board and management on positioning, audience definition and go-to-market strategy as Events.com prepares to enter the public markets. That perspective was built over a career spent measuring what people actually buy and why. In 1996 he founded Harrison Group, a strategic research and consulting firm working from five U.S. offices, with practices in concept evaluation, volumetric forecasting, segmentation, brand architecture and market modeling across technology, wireless, retail, packaged goods, gaming and interactive entertainment, and the wealth market. He recruited a senior bench to build it, drawing former chief executives and chief marketing officers of major research firms and consumer companies into a practice serving some of the best-known brands in the world. Its concept-screening and volumetric methods were used by interactive entertainment publishers to evaluate titles before greenlight. Coca-Cola named the firm Vendor of the Year, and Microsoft named it a Vendor of the Year finalist. Harrison Group's best-known work was the Survey of Affluence and Wealth in America, produced with American Express Publishing. The survey was the basis of the Luxury Market Insights partnership and became a standing reference for how the top 10 percent of U.S. households spend, save and behave, a group accounting for more than half of U.S. retail sales, and was cited by CBS News, Newsweek, CNBC, USA Today and ABC News through the financial crisis and the recovery that followed. The firm also launched the American Pantry Study on consumer response to the recession. Harrison co-authored The New Elite, published by AMACOM in 2008. YouGov acquired Harrison Group in 2010, doubling the size of its U.S. operations and adding both syndicated studies to its product suite. He had built the firm from a startup into a strategic exit to a publicly traded research group, with syndicated products durable enough to be absorbed into the acquirer's suite. Harrison continued as chief executive of the business under YouGov ownership through the earn-out period, then served as president of YouGov's U.S. operations. The foundation of Harrison Group came earlier at Yankelovich Partners, one of the defining names in American consumer research, where he ran the strategic research and volumetric forecasting practice and directed brand positioning and go-to-market work for large national brands. Today he is CEO of The Rise Club and its Keep Rising program. Additionally, he is author of The Rise Framework, which enables founders, executives and investors to own how and why they distinctly matter to the market. He is a graduate of Cornell University. continue
