Marine Corps Historic Half running events to now open in January
QUANTICO, VA (Sept. 21, 2017) – Events.com, Inc. has been selected as the new registration company for the Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) in 2018.
Events.com’s proprietary technology platform will provide event-management software, including registration services and merchandise sales. Events.com replaces RaceIt, the Richmond, VA-based company closing on Nov. 15.
“We want to ensure runners that the Marine Corps Marathon acted quickly to avoid any disruption in registration service as we moved from one company to another,” says MCMO Director Rick Nealis. “Our organization is thrilled to have Events.com as part of the Marine Corps team, starting in 2018.”
Beginning in January, the MCM registration process will move to Events.com, Inc. to include the Marine Corps Historic Half, Semper 5ive (five miler) and the Devil Dog Double hosted annually in Fredericksburg, VA. Runners will be able to start registering for each of these events on January 17 at www.marinemarathon.com. This is a change from the previous Historic Half registration date, which was to occur this year.
“With our deep roots in the running and endurance industries, we are thrilled and honored to partner with such a prestigious organization as the Marine Corps Marathon,” says Mitch Thrower, Founder and Chairman, Events.com. “Our skilled team of endurance industry experts will provide a seamless transition to MCMO and its participants.”
The 43rd MCM Lottery and MCM Event Series also will be served through Events.com in the coming year.
