In October 2015, BizBash unveiled its annual list of the most innovative meetings. We took a peek and picked our five favorites that are worth your time and money in 2016:
Sun Valley, Idaho
This invitation-only retreat brings 200 entrepreneurs and other innovative thinkers together to explore six themes designed to raise questions and provide answers for those who want to ‘put a dent’ in the future.
NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference
San Jose, California The Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) is touted as the nonprofit sector’s signature technology event. Over 2,000 nonprofit professionals from around the world collaborate, innovate, and discover new ways to spark change with technology. For 2016, a cloud-based, crowdsourcing platform will be used to get participant feedback on the conference’s content.
New Orleans, Louisiana
In just its second year, Collision drew 7,500 attendees from 89 countries, including representatives from 1,200 start-ups and more than 450 investors. Its data-driven system acts as a ‘matchmaker’ between investors and companies who then have 15-minute meetings similar to speed dating. During the two-day conference, 600 meetings took place.
Montréal, Quebec, Canada
Left and right brains are equally engaged during this mesmerizing three-day event filled with world-renowned speakers like Chelsea Clinton, interactive exhibits, and collaborative workshops. One of the eye-catching experiences from 2015 was small group discussions that took place as attendees sat in chairs suspended 18 feet in the air above a net.
Future of Storytelling (FoST)
New York City
FoST brings together leaders from media, technology, and communications to explore how stories are changing in the digital age. Months before the two-day event, the 25 speakers
create five-minute preview films to reflect their topic. Attendees then review and rank their favorites, and organizers use that information to match attendees to sessions.
