Spend some time with Anna Flores at Events.com and you’ll likely overhear someone say, “Where have you been all my life?” or “What did we do before you?” Anna is that person: a natural problem solver and a Jackie-of-all-trades. Did we mention she’s one of the best dressed too? Donning animal print pants and oversized sweaters, she’s as stylish as they come.
But most importantly, as the Operations Manager, Anna wears many, many hats and does so with professionalism and grace. Events.com is lucky to have her.
In honor of Employee Appreciation Day, we’re kicking off our Meet the Team series with Anna. Keep reading to find out what makes her so awesome.
When did you join Events.com?
November 2018. Although it’s only be a few months, it feels like I’ve been here for years!
What do you do here?
I do it all. Anything that helps the company run smoothly. You’ll find me working with management, helping with office tasks, managing meetings, working with clients and helping create events. Also, I’m your girl when it comes to the Costco or Amazon order, so let me know what you like because I always want to make sure everyone is a happy camper (and well fed).
Where are you from?
Born in Dallas, Texas, raised in Orange County, attended college at University of Arizona
Tell us about the most memorable event you ever attended.
A really unique event I attended was the truffle festival in Italy. There were SO many different types of products that had truffle in them (honey, olive oil, cheese, etc.). It was amazing to see all of the different vendors and hear their stories! It was also super overwhelming and I was truffled-out for about 6 months.
Italian Truffle Festival. Feeling major #FOMO vibes over here. So, what were you doing before joining Events.com?
I was working in Sales for Crowdrise by GoFundMe. Loved it, but I was ready to take the next step in my career and that’s when I found Events.com. So many things drew me to the company, and just to name a few, the culture, atmosphere, direction the company is going in, and all the employees.
What’s the best part of your job?
I love that each day is different. It’s great to come in to work and help out all different departments, which allows me to learn more and more every day. It’s also exciting to work in the event space and be exposed to so many unique events.
Favorite project to work on at Events.com?
Definitely the Q&A with Billy Gerber for the movie ‘A Star is Born’. It was incredible to see not only different teams within Events.com work together to put on such an exclusive event, but also working with different companies (SD Film Fest, Theatre Box, Sugar Factory). I also loooved the movie.
Favorite place you’ve traveled?
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy so was lucky enough to travel around Europe during my 4 months there. My favorite place was definitely Croatia. I went to Krka National Falls and it was BEAUTIFUL!! If you ever have the chance to visit, do it. You won’t regret it!
Tell us something your coworkers don’t know about you.
I am extremely clumsy. I once fell into the fountain in the lobby of The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas while checking into the hotel.
