Last week’s email trend we discussed related to engaging Millennials. The trend we’re spotlighting this week is multi-channels. The term ‘multi-channel’ seems to be on every marketing professional’s lips and every marketing conference schedule. And while this term may sound like yesterday’s news, a recent Yesmail article points out that that those who did their due diligence with multi-channels in 2015, will reap the benefits in 2016. This new multi-channel approach allows brands the ability to see a 360-degree view of their customers and gives them the power to market to them via the most effective channel(s). If you didn’t jump on this trend last year, there’s still time to get on board. Here’s how: • Reference your social channels in email with a clear call to action for the reader to share the information. Adding
chicklets is a must.
- Add email opt-in links to your social platforms/pages.
- Incentivize your event staff to collect email addresses. Check out these suggestions for correctly collecting offline information. State-of-the-art POS systems offer advantages for capturing data, but not having one shouldn’t deter you from asking for addresses.
- Track the effectiveness of all of the above for opt-in and engagement rates to hopefully gain some unexpected insight into your customer base.
